Lee-Enfield India Pattern Mk 1 .303 inch bolt action cavalry carbine issued to Assam Valley Light Horse, 1905. Made by the Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield. This weapon was presented to Lieutenant-Colonel James Stenhouse Elliot VD on his retirement from the Assam Valley Light Horse. It was later used by the Home Guard during World War Two when it was fitted with modern sling swivels.
