Colombian photographers hold pictures of American Scott Dalton and British Ruth Morris during protest in Bolivar Square in Bogota, January 24, 2003. Marxist rebels have kidnapped British reporter Morris, 30, and American photojournalist Dalton, 34, in a war-torn stretch of eastern Colombia where the two were working together on a freelance assignment for the Los Angeles Times. The rebel group, the National Liberation Army (ELN), detained them in the province of Arauca, where U.S. Special Forces are training government troops, and said their release would depend on undefined "political and military conditions."
