statuette of a woman preparing beer-This female figure is presented in the act of making beer, kneading dough in a strainer over a large jar. She wears a collar made of beads, and a long skirt below her naked torso. She is also wearing a wig, as it is possible to see her real hair beneath. She has an expressive face, and looks almost as if she is speaking to someone standing in front of her. The proportions of the body are not correct – notably she has large hands, although this may have been done on purpose to emphasise the woman’s strength as she kneads the dough.
