Aymara Indian Remedios Loza, head of the populist Patriotic Conscience (CONDEPA) party which forms part of the governing coalition backing Bolivian President [Hugo Banzer], speaks to the press outside her party headquarters August 3, soon after receiving a letter from [Banzer] severing ties between CONDEPA and the governing coalition, virtually expelling them from the ministries they controled. [Banzer, a militar dictator] in the 1970' s who returned to power in democratic elections last year, wrote to Loza complaining that her party's erratic behavior was harming the government.
