MAN WHO WANTED TO KILL SLOBODAN MILOSEVIC WALKS AMONG GRAVES IN KONJIC, 2002-02-11 (photo)

Muamer Topalovic, a Bosnian Muslim who says he wanted to kill former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in 1998, walks February 11, 2002 between graves of Muslims killed during counrty's war in the southern town of Konjic. Topalovic spent more that three years in Serbian prisons after he was caught near the Yugoslav capital of Belgrade, on his way to Milosevic's residence with a backpack full of bombs and an assault rifle. Former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic goes on trial February 12 accused of masterminding ethnic cleansing in the Balkans in the 1990s in the biggest European war crimes trial since Hitler's henchmen were tried at Nuremberg. The former Yugoslav president is charged by the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague with crimes against humanity in Croatia in 1991-92, genocide in the 1992-95 Bosnian war and crimes against humanity in Kosovo in 1999.
