Often described as an ‘oasis of culture’ in the Arizona desert, the Phoenix Art Museum houses works that span major artistic movements from the Renaissance to the present. The collection of modern and contemporary art includes works by Rivera, Kahlo, Picasso, Appel, Rothko, Calder, O’Keefe, and Rodin. Other works available include fine examples of the decorative arts, period dress, Asian art, Spanish colonial furnishings and religious art. The museum has also assembled a fascinating collection of nearly 900 paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints that focus on the landscape and history of the American West.
