Votaries of the Weed, No 27. This justly-celebrated exsporting tout and present matchless "tipster" smokes a particularly rank and pungent tobacco. It is, doubtless, owing to the tears getting into our eyes and the smoke into our windpipe that causes us to mistake, or at least to not clearly catch the correct name of the "unbeatable certainty" with which he is ever ready to favour us. How otherwise account for the never-failing beating of the unbeatable? Illustration for one of a set of cigarette cards with the title Votaries of the Weed, issued by Gallaher in 1916.
