Hasenbeize. Die Beize, das Jagen mit abgerichteten Raubvogeln, ist eine der altesten Jagdarten, von asiatischen Nomadenstammen heute noch betrieben. In Deutschland war sie meist ein Vorrecht des Adels, der sie noch lange nach Erfindung der Feuerwaffen bis ins 18Jahrh als besonderes Jagdvergnugen beibehielt. Man jagte mit den Beizvogeln auf Vogelwild und Kleinwild wie Hasen und Kaninchen. Translation: Rabbit Pickle. Pickling, hunting with trained birds of prey, is one of the oldest types of hunting, still practiced by Asian nomadic tribes today. In Germany it was mostly a privilege of the nobility, who retained it as a special hunting pleasure long after the invention of firearms up to the 18th century.
