Cap badge, 1st Chinese Regiment, 1903 (c). The 1st Chinese Regiment, an infantry battalion raised in the British enclave of Wei Hai Wei (now Weihai) on the northern coast of the Shantung Peninsular in northern China, was established in 1898. The regiment was disbanded in 1903 after the territory was transferred from War Office control to the Colonial Office. It did however see active service during the 3rd China War (Boxer Rebellion) of 1900.
