The statue of Jesus is seen equiped with low-voltage electric shock wires on head and hands during restoration work on the facade of Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral, October 26. The nose, which had been previously replaced, will be re-tinted to match the rest. The work is part of a complete refurbishment of the western face of the cathedral which began in 1993 to should be completed for the year 2000. A system to repel pigeons, using low-voltage electricity, has been installed on many of the statues.
