Aerial photo of the Maltings concert hall (shown in foreground left with the dark gray roof), Snape, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, England. The conversion of the hall from a barley malting was instigated by Benjamin Britten and it became centre of Aldeburgh Festival in 1967, burnt down in 1969 and was rebuilt in time for 1970 Festival. This photo shows the original building, part of Snape village the River Alde, and the old malt store buildings. A Henry Moore sculpture is shown on the lawn in front of the concert hall. English composer, born 22 November 1913, died 4 December 1976.
