HONDURAS FIRST LADY AND TIPPER GORE SAY GOODBYE IN TEGUCIGALPA, 1998-11-11 (photo)

Mary Flores, wife of Honduran President Carlos Flores (R), bids farewell to Tipper Gore, wife of U.S. Vice President Al Gore, as the Gore party departs the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa aboard a U.S. Air Force C-130, November 11. Gore and a party of U.S. Congress Senators and Representatives are conducting a two-day tour of the region. Approximately 10,000 people have died in Honduras and Nicaragua as a result of the storm. There are reports that approximately 60 percent of the infrastructure of the Central American nations were destroyed by the storm. The U.S. will deliver $80 million to relief operations in goods, food and water. BPS/MR
