The Battle of Kirk-Kilisse (colour litho)

The Battle of Kirk-Kilisse. The battle of Kirk-Kilisse took place at the commencement of the Balkan War of 1912. General Savoff directed the Bulgarian main attack against Kirk-Kilisse, though the initial disposition of the forces gave the Turks the impression that Adrianople was the enemy's first objective. From 22-24 October the Bulgarians were engaged north and north-west of the Town, on which front the Turks had attempted a night attack with 70000 men. The Turks were repulsed, a panic ensued amongst them, and on 24 October the Bulgarians captured Kirk-Kilisse, in which there was a large quantity of supplies.
