Blue wool Russian-style child's tunic worn by Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (1841-1910) (later King Edward VII) on 8 October 1844 when his mother Queen Victoria received Louis Philippe I, King of the French, at Windsor Castle. Prince Albert was 2 years and 11 months old at the time The Prince of Wales is depicted wearing the tunic (or one similar) in a number of paintings and miniatures
