Hannah Rosbotham (1858 - 1935), an assistant schoolmistress who rescued five pupils from a schoolroom, when a severe storm struck the town of Sutton, St.Helens, England, on the 14th October, 1881. Queen Victoria conferred the Albert Medal on Hannah Rosbotham, who was the first female recipient of the award at that time.
