taken to England in 1296 by King Edward I and placed in the Coronation throne in Westminster Abbey in London; used in coronations by every sovereign has been crowned since Edward II in 1307; containing the Stone of Scone, used by Scottish monarchs at their coronation; also known as the Stone of Destiny and according to legends previously either Jacob's Pillow Stone (Genesis 28:10-22) or brought from Ireland; returned to Scotland in 1996; will return to Westminster Abbey for future coronation ceremonies; illustration from the series of Churchman cigarette cards produced for the coronation of George VI;
