George Clemenceau (1841-1929), a French journalist and politician, a great figure in the third republic at the head of radical republicans and the extreme left opposition, nicknamed the “tiger”, knocked down several governments or pushed ministers to half (1881 and 1882), from 1894 to 1906 he took the side of dreyfusards, as editor in the newspaper “L'aurore” and found the title “J'accuse” for Emile Zola's famous article; in 1906, minister of the interior and president of the council, he set up the foundations of a true scientific police, then he was called to the head of the government in 1917, in the midst of the war of 1914-1918, he showed himself an authoritarian warlord and intransigent and enjoys great popularity in both military and civilian circles.
