Description
Maj William Loftie, 55th (the Westmoreland) Regiment of Foot, 1815. Military leaders including the Duke of Wellington, the Emperor of Austria, the Tsar and Louis XVIII of France in a coach, together with allied soldiers in various uniforms, during the Occupation of Paris after the defeat of Napoleon in 1815. The place was renamed Place de la Revolution, and during the Bourbon restoration of 1815-30 the name Place Louis XV was revived.
