Haversack, US Army, 1944 circa (cotton and brass)

Image description: Haversack, US Army, 1944 circa. Pictured with first aid pouch, webbing cartridge belt, shovel with cover, and bandolier are displayed attached to each other as worn. Made of cotton with brass fittings by Atlas Manufacturing Company. The 29th Infantry Division was a National Guard division from Maryland and Virginia. Known informally as Englands Own it was posted to England in 1942. Initially stationed at Tidworth, it later undertook coast watch duties in Devon and Cornwall. In June 1944, the 29th Division formed part of the first wave of landings in the Easy Red sector of OMAHA Beach.
