We're both honoured and delighted to be managing the Stanley Spencer Estate for image licensing.
From March 2014, the reproduction and copyright clearance of Sir Stanley Spencer (1891-1959), a key figure in 20th century British figurative art, will be handled by Bridgeman Artists’ Copyright Service. His Artist's Resale Rights will also be managed by the Artists' Collecting Society.

Extraordinary and tender paintings One of the most original painters of the 20th century, Spencer brought out both the extraordinary in everyday life and the familiar in the dramatic. Though his subjects ranged from scenes of war to domestic moments, Spencer’s art places itself firmly within the long line of the British painting tradition.
Many of Spencer’s most iconic images are now available to view and download as high-resolution files on Bridgeman’s website, including the beautiful, nostalgic landscapes of Cookham, Spencer’s hometown, his ambitious war paintings, his epic religious subjects and his touching portraits of his family.
Record price at Christie's sale Stanley Spencer's 'Christ Preaching at Cookham Regatta' recently set a record price of £6m for the Modern British & Irish Art category at Christie's November 2013 Modern British and Irish Art Sale.
