ArtLens and Gallery One

The Cleveland Museum of Art recently unveiled a new interactive gallery and an award-winning iPad app that allows visitors to customize their museum experience. Over 175 images from the Bridgeman archive were licensed for this unique project.

A marriage of art, technology and a heavy dose of user interpretation, the Cleveland Museum of Art's new Gallery One interactives and accompanying ArtLens iPad app are truly amazing. The ArtLens app allows museum fans to personalize their experience with the collection both at home and while visiting the museum. Users can find out more about their favorite works with layers of interactive content, and while visiting the museum the app can be used in Gallery One and throughout the permanent collection to enhance their experience. If you find yourself lost in the galleries, the Near You Now feature will identify where you are and point out works in the vicinity, and provide additional context to help you "discover" old favorites as well as works new to you. Click to watch how the Near You Now feature works.
