1. What is your role at Bridgeman? During the week starting the 19th of February 2018 ending on the 23rd, I have been given an exciting opportunity to participate in a week’s long work experience at Bridgeman Images. This experience involved me working as a Marketing intern, working under Alan Firmin, Bridgeman’s Chief Marketing Officer. I attended meetings, learning more about the company which gave me an insight of what working at Bridgeman is like. I got the chance to meet various sectors of the workforce, who are a wonderful and welcoming group of people.
2. What did you learn/enjoy during your week at Bridgeman? I was given tasks of managing social media such as posting current topics and themes on the company’s Instagram page. Also adding content on their current website, in the blog section, both tasks, involved me using images from the Bridgeman Images archive. Bridgeman Images has introduced me to the idea that there is a lot more I can do and there are so many branches I can go into with the subject art. I have been surrounded by multiple intelligent people who are devoted to their work. The Bridgeman community is so diverse, therefore, I loved the interaction with others and hearing the various languages.

3. What and where are you currently studying?
I am currently a Sixth Form student studying A-levels at Mossbourne Community Academy, studying the subjects Art, History and Sociology. Producing art is a passion of mine as I especially love creating oil painting portraits. I love seeing myself grow as an artist, learning new techniques and observing my painting as the years go by.
4. What would your ideal job involve when you finish studying?
After finishing my A-Levels at Mossbourne, I would like to potentially undertake a Foundation course in Fine Art and Design at De Montfort University, Leicester. Then later continue my education studying History as a course or History of Art in university. I don’t exactly have a clear plan of what I want to do but my aspiration in life is to always take as many opportunities as I can, learning new experiences and learning from my mistakes.
Kulsum’s favourite images and clips in the archive are...
It’s difficult to come to a decision of my top 5 artists. But I usually like looking at portraits and paintings of people because I feel like it’s a scene from a movie stopped before me. Paintings to me are like various stories from different perceptions and angles, but all coming from one image.
A monument built in the heart of India, based on a love story that is considered a living example of eternal love. I was always told this story as a young kid I was in awe but when I finally saw it I was mesmerised at its beauty.
